Your Swapcard profile is essential for networking and making meaningful connections during events. Understanding what information is accessible by other participants ensures that you manage your privacy effectively while maximizing the benefits of your profile.
๐ What information is visible to other participants?
When you participate in an event, certain information on your Swapcard profile becomes visible to other attendees to facilitate networking and collaboration. Hereโs a breakdown of the accessible information:
Personal information
Name: Your full name is visible to help others identify and connect with you.
Job title Your professional role and current employer are displayed to provide context about your expertise.
Profile picture: A visual identifier that helps others recognize you.
Biography: A brief description or summary of your professional background and interests.
Contact information
Your email address, phone number and social media links remain private unless you accept connection or meeting requests from attendees.
Event-related information
Sessions registered: Other participants can see the sessions or events you have registered for, enabling easier networking based on shared interests.
Meetings scheduled: Your meeting schedule, if made public, is visible to assist with planning and coordination.
Messages: Direct messages sent between participants are private and not visible to others.
๐๏ธ How do I control my profile visibility?
You can choose at any time to make yourself visible or invisible in the Attendees button found in the top horizontal bar of the event (name of the button is subject to change based on the Event Organizers' preferences).
Note: Whether you have been assigned to the Attendees, Speakers or Exhibitors group, you can enable/disable your Visibility in the Attendees button.
On Desktop/WebApp:
To manage your Visibility, go to the Attendees button in the event. On the left-hand side, you will see a box with the name Visibility. You can toggle this setting on and off at any time depending on whether or not you want or do not want to be visible to other Participants of the event.
On mobile
Go on the Attendees button. Click on the three dots at the top right of the screen, and enable Be visible in the list to be hidden or visible.
On iOS:
Go on the Attendees button. Click on the three dots at the top right of the screen, choose Edit my visibility, and select to be hidden or visible.
