When the organizer of the event you attend wishes to modify the information on your profile, you must accept or decline this information. This is why you are sometimes asked if you want to accept new information:

As an attendee, you can always visit your profile by clicking on My profile, then click edit in any of the sections tab to check if there are any changes waiting for your approval.
