Whether you want to create a password for the first time, change the one you have, or get back into your account after forgetting it, you can manage everything yourself from your profile — no need to contact support. This guide covers all three.
🔑 Only ever signed in with a login code or magic link? That's completely normal — it means you probably don't have a password yet. You can keep logging in without one at any time (see Forgot your password, or never had one? below), and you can create a password whenever you like using the steps in How to set or change your password.
💻 Passwords are managed on the web app only. Set, change, or reset your password at app.swapcard.com in a web browser. This isn't available in the mobile app yet.
How to set or change your password
Use these steps whether you're creating your first password or updating an existing one — it's the same place.
Open the Event App in a web browser and log in. Open the menu under your name/profile and click on My profile, as shown below:
Once you're in your profile, go to the Settings tab.
Scroll down until you find the Password section.
Click on Change password (if you've never set a password, this is also where you create your first one), as shown in the image below.
Enter your new password and save.
Tips for creating a strong password
Use a mix of characters: include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
Avoid common words: refrain from using easily guessable words or phrases.
Make it long: aim for a password that is at least 12 characters long.
Unique passwords: use different passwords for different accounts to enhance security.
Forgot your password, or never had one?
You don't need your old password to get back in. From the login page, enter your email and choose one of two passwordless options — a magic link or a one-time code — both sent to your email. Once you're in, you can set a new password from your profile settings.
Start here for either option:
Go to the login page at app.swapcard.com.
Click Log in, enter your email address, and click Continue.
Option 1 — Magic link
Click Send me a magic link.
Open the email and click the link (it expires in 1 hour) to log in instantly.
Option 2 — One-time login code
Click Send a code.
Check your email for the login code, enter it on the login page, and you're in.
✅ Once you're logged in, we recommend setting a password so you can log in directly next time. Go to My profile → Settings → Password and follow the steps in How to set or change your password above.
Managing your password is key to securing your Event App account and keeping smooth access to event features — whether you're setting one for the first time, changing it proactively, or resetting it after a login issue. For the best experience, use a strong password and update it regularly.
