Live streams and video playback are integral to your event experience on Swapcard, but sometimes issues such as blank pages, video loading errors, or streaming interruptions can occur. Swapcard works best with Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, and using these browsers can help prevent many common issues. However, if problems persist, follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve video playback issues effectively.

How can I fix live stream or video playback issues?

If you’re experiencing blank pages, streaming issues, or app latency, please try the following solutions:

  • Switch to a supported browser: Swapcard is optimized for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. If you are using another browser and experiencing issues, switch to one of these two for the best performance.

  • Refresh the page: A simple page refresh can often resolve video player availability issues. However, if the player remains unavailable, proceed with the steps below.

  • Check for security settings blocking content: Video playback issues are often caused by security settings on your browser, device, or network blocking access to the content server.

  • Open an incognito window: Open an incognito (private) window in your browser and try accessing the content again. This helps bypass any cached data or bad settings stored in your main browsing session.

  • Switch to a different internet connection: Use an alternative internet connection to bypass potential network restrictions. For example, use your mobile phone’s data by turning off Wi-Fi—this will help bypass any firewalls or VPNs that could be blocking access.

Please note that videos are not hosted on Swapcard and that the platform only acts as a "gateway" to the event's video content, unless the Organizer is using Swapcard Stream (RTMP).
