How to connect with other event participants?

Learn how to connect with fellow event participants to maximize your networking opportunities and build valuable professional relationships.

Connecting with other attendees during an event is a key feature that enhances your networking opportunities and helps you foster valuable relationships. By sending connection requests, you can engage in meaningful conversations and collaborations that extend beyond the event. This article will guide you through the steps to connect with other event participants, ensuring you make the most out of your event experience.

🚫 Feature Access Restrictions

Access to participant connections is at the discretion of the event organizer. If can't access to the attendees list and send connection requests, please reach out to the organizer for permission.

Why should you connect with other attendees?
Building connections with other attendees allows you to expand your professional network, share insights, and collaborate on future projects. These connections are invaluable for creating long-lasting relationships that can benefit you both personally and professionally.

F.A.Q.

  • What should I do if my messages disappear?

When you send a connection request with a message, the message only appears in the chat after the connection is accepted.

If there was a delay between sending the request and acceptance, the message might appear later than expected.

  • Why am I unable to book meetings?

There are meeting rules in place in the app, so it's possible that depending on your group and permission, you could be able to secure meeting with some attendees and not others. We suggest contacting the organizer.

  • Why can't I send more connection requests?

There are time-based limits on how many connection and meeting requests a single account can send, so that networking stays meaningful for everyone. Your account is not blocked, and your allowance recovers over time. See "Why can't I send more connection requests?" further down this article.

How to access the Attendee list?

Open the event you're attending and look for the Attendees page. Note that the name of this page may vary depending on the Organizer's settings.

How to send a connection request to another attendee?

On the web app

  • Open the event you're attending and look for the Attendees page. Note that the name of this page may vary depending on the Organizer's settings.

  • Search for the person you want to connect with. If you can't find them, it might be because their profile is not visible. Once you locate them, click on the Connect button.

  • Send a Message (Optional): After clicking Connect, their profile will open, allowing you to send a message before sending the connection request.

You can use pre-created message suggestions to have better chances at getting an answer! Indeed, connection requests with messages are more likely to be answered.

  • Once the request has been accepted, you will be able to chat directly through the event app.

On the mobile app

On mobile, to connect with other attendees on mobile, the process is the same.

How to connect directly from the People page?

You can also directly connect with other attendees from the People page. No need to navigate through multiple pages or search for specific profiles, you can simply click on the "Connect" button next to the person's name and start networking in just a few clicks.

PS : This feature is only available on People pages defined as "list".

Once you click on Connect, you'll have the option to either send a connection request or book a meeting.

šŸ’” Unanswered connection request will be deleted after 3 months.

Why can't I send more connection requests?

If you see the message "You have exceeded the allowable number of consecutive requests. Please try again later", you have reached the limit on how many connection and meeting requests can be sent from a single account within a given period of time.

āœ… Your account is not blocked. Your login still works, your profile remains visible to other participants, and nothing has been flagged or restricted on your account.

Why do these limits exist?

We want every event to feel like a room full of real professional conversations. These limits keep networking meaningful for everyone: they make sure the requests landing in your inbox come from real people who genuinely want to meet you, rather than from mass or automated outreach.

They also encourage quality over quantity. A smaller number of well-targeted, personalised requests consistently leads to more accepted connections and more valuable meetings than sending to everyone.

How do these limits work?

The limits are time-based, and several of them apply at the same time: per minute, per hour, per day, per week and per month. They run on rolling periods rather than resetting at a fixed hour, so your allowance recovers progressively as your earlier requests move out of the period being counted.

They are applied automatically and identically to every participant, and they count volume only. They do not look at who you are, who you contacted, or what you wrote, so reaching a limit is never a judgement on you or on your outreach.

Why are the exact numbers not published?

We keep the thresholds private so that they stay effective: published numbers would simply tell automated tools exactly how far they can go. What we can tell you is that they are set generously, well above what active networking at an event looks like, and the vast majority of participants never come close to reaching them.

What still works in the meantime

  • You can receive and accept connection requests with no restriction.

  • Your profile stays fully visible in the participant list.

  • You can keep chatting with the people you are already connected with

  • People can still accept the pending requests you've sent before you reached the limit

  • Onsite, scanning a badge in person adds the contact directly and is not affected by these limits.

šŸ’” Getting the most out of your requests

  • Spread your requests out over the course of the event rather than sending them all in one burst.

  • Add a personal message. Requests sent with a message are far more likely to be accepted.

  • Prioritise. Use the search and filters on the participant list to find the people who genuinely match what you are looking for.

If you have stopped sending requests and the message persists for more than a day or two, contact the event organizer or our support team. We can look at your account and tell you approximately when your allowance recovers.

How to access your contacts?

To access your contacts, go to the "Contacts" tab of your account. If you're logged into an event you will be able to see the contacts you made at this event but also all you contacts.

If you wish to delete a contact, select the contact then click on the "Delete" button at the bottom of the contact form.

šŸ’” Important note on reporting & blocking

  • šŸ”’ Connection requests cannot be blocked or reported as spam from within the app.

  • 🚨 To report fraudulent or spam profiles, attendees must contact the event organizer directly—this functionality is not available in the app.

By effectively using the connection features on our platform, you can significantly enhance your networking efforts, making valuable connections that can benefit you long after the event ends. Whether connecting with attendees or exhibitors, these tools are designed to help you build a strong professional network effortlessly.
